Saratoga Casino Holdings joins the hotel-casino project presented in New York

Saratoga Casino Holdings And The Chickasaw Nation join forces with Thor Equities with the aim of creating a land-based casino in New York, in the Coney Island area. The group will also include Legends as the company's leisure partner.

New York Casino Bid Rises

Very little information has leaked so far about this project, but it includes the construction of a large hotel with various leisure facilities as well as a dedicated casino section. The project is budgeted at $3 billion and aims to create nearly 2,500 jobs directs.

These are actually three casino licenses that will be issued by the governor of the state, Kathy Hochul , for the development of its region. The three casinos can be located anywhere in the southern part of the state, including the lower Hudson Valley and Long Island. These investors are coming together with the aim of taking advantage of this opportunity, which is expected to be issued soon.

An ever-growing list of suitors

Thor Equities joins a list of suitors vying for a casino license. Steve Cohen, owner of the New York Mets , is in discussion with Hard Rock about an offer in Queens. Wynn Resorts is proposing a casino in Hudson Yards, west of Manhattan. Furthermore, Caesars Entertainment is proposing a casino in Times Square.

The NY State Gaming Commission will release its Application for Candidacy (RFA) by January 6, 2023 . Once applications are submitted, they will be reviewed by the new NY Gaming Facility Location Board.
